Following breast
reconstruction a new nipple and areola can be created using a
procedure called intradermal tattooing. the procedure
involves the permanent marking of the skin with colour pigments
and is used to compliment the surgical reconstruction of the
nipple. Many women that this improves the cosmetic
appearance of the breast and this procedure enhances their
quality of life.

Before
After
The skin on this areola and nipple
was taken from the back. With micro pigmentation I was
able to match it to the other breast and reduce the scarring at
the same time by using an Environ product.
It is normal to expect some
temporary inflamation around the area being treated for the
first day or so. As part of the healing process the skin
that is treated crusts slightly and some slight peeling of the
skin is normal. Over a period of time the colour of the
treated area may fade due to lightening of the colour pigments
and the procedure may need to be enhanced.
The pigments used in Micro
Pigmentation are made from safe, generally non-reactive
compounds approved by the FDA. Each colour is individually
mixed for customised results that are designed to look natural
for your skin type. The results are immediate however the
full result will be seen in approximately three weeks.
You should be able to resume
normal activities immediately following the procedure; however,
use of cosmetics, excessive perspiration and exposure to the sun
should be avoided until the area is fully healed.
